The Battle of Imus, also known as the Siege of Imus, the first battle of the Philippine Revolution and one of the largest of the war, was fought on 3 September 1896 at Imus, Cavite province in the Philippines, four days after Bonifacio’s ill-fated attack on the gunpowder magazine of San Jose del Monte. The resulting decisive victory for the Filipino revolutionaries very much alarmed the Spanish government in the Philippines, in which they attempted to subdue the revolutionaries once and for all in Cavite province in turn, opening the twin battles of Binakayan and Dalahican weeks after the battle.
