* 2006 Stuttgart was a playground of the [[World Cup 2006]. Stuttgart has 590,000 inhabitants within city limits and it is the 6th largest city in Germany after Berlin,Hamburg,Munich,Cologne and Frankfurt am Main. According to 2005. estimate Stuttgart urban area had between 1,238,000 and 1,250,000 inhabitants. Today Stuttgart UA has 1,261,000 inhabitants,while 1,495,000 inhabitants live in wider urban area (by 2008. estimate). Stuttgart metropolitan area has around 2,700,000 inhabitants and Stuttgart metropolitan region has around 3,460,000 inhabitants.
