Section 176. Works of the Government. - 176.1. No copyright shall subsist in any work of the Government of the Philippines. However, prior approval of the government agency or office wherein the work is created shall be necessary for exploitation of such work for profit. Such agency or office may, among other things, impose as a condition the payment of royalties. No prior approval or conditions shall be required for the use of any purpose of statutes, rules and regulations, and speeches, lectures, sermons, addresses, and dissertations, pronounced, read or rendered in courts of justice, before administrative agencies, in deliberative assemblies and in meetings of public character.

Ang gawaing ito ay nasa pampublikong dominyo sa Pilipinas at maaari rin sa ibang hurisdiksiyon dahil isa itong gawaing nilikha ng isang opisyal o empleyado ng Pamahalaan ng Pilipinas o ng anuman sa mga subdibisyon o instrumentalidad nito, kasama ang mga korporasyong nasa pagmamay-ari at/o pamamahala ng pamahalaan (GOCC), bilang bahagi ng kaniyang mga itinakdang regular na tungkuling opisyal; at dahil sa iyon, hindi maaaring ipasailalim ang anumang gawain sa karapatang-sipi sa ilalim ng tadhana ng Bahagi IV, Kabanata I, Seksiyon 171.11 at Bahagi IV, Kabanata IV, Seksiyon 176 ng Batas Republika Blg. 8293 at Batas Republika Blg. 10372, na maaari ring sinusugan, maliban kung may ibang kondisyong nakatakda. Gayumpaman, sa ilang mga pagkakataon, maaaring nakaregulasyon ang paggamit ng gawaing ito sa Pilipinas o sa ibang lugar sa ilalim ng batas na ito o ng ibang batas.
