Sa FIBA Asia Congress na ginanap sa Doha, Qatar, iginawad ng Central Board ang karapatang magdaos nito sa Tsina.[2] Noong Disyembre 4, 2014, nakuha ng Chinese Basketball Association ang pagsang-ayon ng FIBA Asia upang ganapin ang men's championship sa Changsha, Hunan, habang ang women's championship ay gaganapin sa Wuhan, Hubei.[3]
